There have been men and women who have preferred others of their own sex since ancient times. But it was a hidden, dangerous thing to be classified as "different" in some societies. In others, it was just distasteful. Much has changed, but much has not. Two young women who meet as teenagers in a small Northeastern community discover that not only do they strongly resemble each other, but they also care for each other in more than a friendship way in the 60's. The two bright young women devise a way to live their lives together in a manner that will make them appear much like all their contemporaries, who are straight. They figure out a way to live their lives as they wish with no one the wiser, with a bit of assistance from two gay male friends. All is well until a chance discovery of possible lineage makes them stop and reassess their lives in 2014. Things change, but do they really?
