As hard as my decision was, leaving was the only way I could protect Taylin. Taylin had been the only person I had confided my secrets in; the only one I had let close enough to see who I really was. For so long I had been afraid of losing his presence in my life that I kept him at arm’s length before finally giving into my feelings, and now here I was at dinner with someone else on Valentine’s Day.
