God has a special plan for Serena Regan’s life despite the fact she doesn’t believe He even exists.
Aspiring opera singer Serena Regan spends her summers at home working at a local nursery. Despite being raised without faith, she finds comfort being around the Christian owners and their three sons, especially their middle son Jacob Daniels. However this summer brings painful revelations about her and her family’s lives. She must face the fact that her teenage sister is pregnant and wants Serena’s help in obtaining an abortion. An innocent baby’s life is on the line and Serena has no recourse but to go to the only person that can help. Jacob is there for her, not to judge but to guide and support. He stands by her and she begins to realize how much he means to her. Yet, he is from a Christian family and she has been raised to distrust his entire belief system. One summer changes everything as Serena learns that God’s hand guides her life and those around her. Her sister’s pregnancy stirs up old secrets and lost dreams. Their futures become uncertain and shadowed by the overwhelming darkness of life lived without faith. God is not without his messengers and they provide help, but the choice to believe is Serena’s alone. Will she finally acknowledge God and bend to His will or her own?
