The Shining Mountains

What happens when you kill the imbecile son of the richest man in Virginia in 1826 in self defense? You get a quick trial from a crooked judge, and a death sentence. This is what young Cole Randall faces. He escapes to the west, where he nearly dies from exposure. He is befriended by a mountain man, who teaches him the way of the trappers.
