Return of the Last Man

The Finders Institute has illegally obtained one of several alien artifacts discovered on Mars. Michael Chart is a member of the team whose efforts to activate the artifact have proven futile. Because of the team's failure, the institute has decided the members of the team must be eliminated and a new team brought in. However, before Michael can be eliminated, he unknowingly awakens the artifact. The deaths of his fellow scientist alerts Michael to the threat. With their assassins on his heels, he flees the institute.

Frightening dreams that the human race will soon become extinct begin to haunt Michael. In his dreams he watches the lonely Traveler, the only human to survive this catastrophe, wander the Earth in solitude.
