Build Upon the Rock: Jesus Christ

Jesus said in Mathew 4:4, “It is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. God’s words are written in the Bible, and the Bible interprets itself. Both Jesus and the apostles lived according to the Word. “It is written” provided for them authority and strength. Jesus used “it is written” to establish His authority over Satan. The Church needs to prioritize doctrines, prophesies and activities best suited to God’s Word. Jesus is revealed in the Old Testament as the Lord and Law Giver, and in the New Testament, He is God’s Word. The Christian foundation is built on Jesus Christ and the Cross, which is the only object of the Christian faith. Anything other than the Cross of Jesus is another foundation.
