Cabal of Fate

A surreptitious love triangle between twenty-two-year-old black, jazz pianist, Clark Dameron, and thirty-seven-year-old white woman, Melody Howard, and twenty-year-old, white college student, Amelia Ryan, implodes when the student discovers that she is involved in a love triangle. Plus, the plotting of a jealous music professor, Howard Libroth, who wants to hurt Amelia by hurting Clark. Amelia’s roommate, Cynthia Hightower, seduces Clark and the animosity that arises between the two roommates that leads to Amelia moving out of the dorm. Amelia’s family’s concern when they learn of Amelia and Clark’s engagement. Amelia discovers Melody in Clark’s apartment wearing only his bathrobe. She breaks with Clark and Clark breaks with Melody. Melody determines to kill Clark. Professor Libroth hires two thugs to break Clark’s fingers. As Melody waits for Clark to appear to kill him, the two thugs attack Clark and Melody shoots one in the shoulder. The police clear Melody and she takes Clark to her apartment and nurses him back to health and they reconcile.
