Stepping on the Cracks is a story not only of kids growing up during the 1970s, but also one of deep and powerful friendships, life's uncertainties and the pains realised as adulthood takes hold.

David Bowie is central to the story, which is set in the 70s.

One of the two protagonists – both young boys in their teens – is hugely influenced by David Bowie, who he meets early on in the story. The story starts when the boys are attending the famous last 'Ziggy' concert in 1973.

The final scenes are played out in a back street in London's West End – where the cover for Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars (1972) was shot.
