Death Too Soon

Death Too Soon is Arnold Dyre’s second novel, and continues a series of Jake Baker mysteries begun with Dyre’s premier novel, Untruths and Truths Untold. In Death Too Soon, Jackson, Mississippi police homicide detective Hank McGuire is up to his neck in a murder investigation regarding a pretty Pearl High School cheerleader, whose panty-clad body was found alongside the Jackson side of the Pearl River. When the tracks of suspicion lead to one of the Pearl football coaches, the coach contacts young Charlie Harper of the Baker Law Firm. Soon, Detective McGuire gets help solving the case and tracking the killer from lawyer Jake Baker and his investigator, Joe Bremer. During the course of the story, previous readers of Untruths and Truths Untold will be treated to more details of the special bond between Jake and Joe going back to their time in Vietnam.
