Renaissance Italy for a twelve year old Lorenzo Vasari means that his father agreed for him to be his friend's new apprentice.
Ferrara's Patron has commanded that Ferrara hire a new apprentice, who will learn his craft and be the next Master Painter.
At twenty-two; Lorenzo must leave Ferrara and go live with this mysterious Patron. Lorenzo knows that the Patron is hiding some dark secret and he prays that he will live to find out what that secret is.

Jayden's father has gotten him an internship at his friend's architecture firm. His parents have agreed to let him take a vacation to Paris before he has to get back to start his new job.
Jayden meets the mysterious Lorenzo Vasari and he wonders what Lorenzo's dark secret that he is hiding.
