Six hundred and eighty miles north of Bermuda in an area of the Atlantic Ocean known as the Hatteras Abyss, the USS Shark Fin, a $1.3 billion weapon of mass destruction nuclear submarine, has sunk. Nine crew members are dead or missing. The new Russian K-329 super submarine and a US F-18 fighter jet have gone missing in the same area and time frame. The US Navy is concerned that the British HMS-29 submarine may have been involved. Jodi Bennington, the first woman to command a US Navy submarine, has been summoned to testify before a Naval Board of Inquiry. The board must review all of the information and facts to determine if a court martial will be required of Jodi her crew and the F-18 pilot.
Depending on the outcome, the US government is concerned about a major confrontation with the Russians, Iran and the British Admiralty. Additionally, several important persons who may have been connected to the Shark Fin have either died or disappeared. And a large quantity of plutonium has gone missing.
