This is an important, very readable, timely contribution which tackles the problem of suffering. How is it that God's almightiness does not prevent or interfere with areas of pain, into which we would act if we had the ability? Does a loving God really care or is he not almighty? Both non-believers and Christians will find this book rewarding. The large number of anecdotes, pithy sayings and quotations make this book a delightful read. Dr Critchlow has had a long career in applying truth, thoughtfully, to himself and to large numbers of needy and hurting people, people who need the love which he manifests as well as the empathy he is able to sensitively exude in opening up the mysteries of the human heart.
