The third phase of the struggle for the New Cameroon, where taking advantage of the worldwide clamor for democracy and freedom generated by the reforms of "glasnost and perestroika" launched by Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev, some members of the monolithic system left the sole/ruling party and formed new opposition parties that were immediately supported by the true advocates of a New, Democratic, Liberal, Free and Prosperous Cameroon; only for these new leaders of the so-called opposition parties to turn around and rejoin the anachronistic system.

By doing so, these so-called opposition leaders actually became the leaders of the pseudo-opposition, a retrogressive group that is in harmony with the anachronistic system imposed on Cameroon by France in 1960. Their act of betrayal has thrown the vast majority of Cameroonians who oppose the system under the bus, thereby bringing the third phase of the Cameroonian struggle to an end with the system still intact and with Cameroon degenerating into a failed state.
