Subterranean Secret

In southwestern New Mexico, there is a large, two-century-old brush "island" in the backyard of Steve Cutler's house. It was never cut down, Steve is told by his Navajo neighbor, because local Indian folklore claims it is a portal to the underworld. Steve is also told that the previous owner of his house ventured into the island to find his son, and neither were ever seen again. Unfazed by these fanciful legends, Cutler resolves to rid his yard of the hideous island--and makes a startling discovery!
