The Tribute Coin Connection

During the winter of 1946 , fifteen-year-old Mark Nelson is taken from his San Francisco home by prison bus to the Preston School of Industry in Ione, California. Here he learns the severity of prison life and the heartbreak of losing his best friend. Upon his early release, his travels begin, led by an unseen Providential Hand. As a rebellious unbeliever, he goes from one harrowing experience to another blaming the God he claims does not exist. One heartbreak after another and frequent near-death experiences, he arrives in war-torn Israel at the birth of her statehood in 1948. There, he meets death face–to-face and finally realizes that the ancient Tribute Coin he both cherishes and hates has been the tool God has used to bring him to a place of repentance and salvation.
