A Rifleman in World War II

Vowing to join the United States Military instead of going to college, a young man ends up in the 94th division fighting in the foreign land of Normandy. In these memoirs, the soldier brings up such topics as race relations and the ever brutal experiences in combat. He questions the need for conflict in the first place, and wonders whether or not risking one’s life in combat is worth it. He also describes, in detail, the terror of leading scouting patrols on foreign soil and dealing with the Germans behind enemy lines.
