The Deacon and the Devil

This book is about a very successful and moral black man who is a lawyer and owns a real estate company with his beautiful wife. Life is wonderful! He is elected to serve as the first black deacon in a predominantly white church in Mississippi. Due to no fault of his own, he is faced with a serious problem and he makes a bad choice, which causes him to make another bad choice, until he finds himself spiraling downward into a guilt-ridden hell on earth. He wants his old moral life back. Is it possible? Will God forgive him? Will he forgive himself?
