Charles the Bold, Last Duke of Burgundy

Known as Charles the Terrible to his enemies, Charles Martin was the last Valois Duke of Burgundy. His early and tragic death signaled the end of Burgundy and the rise of the Habsburgs as a European power family. After the Battle of Nancy, his naked body was discovered several days later frozen in the river.
