Julian takes you for a tour of the byways of his thoughts. From confused comedy (intentional or un-) and haiku about steak puns to attempts at touching on what binds all of humanity, "on the landslide catwalk" is an experiment in living and loving, self and other.
The poems document, by chortle and choke, the last two years of a young overachiever's pursuit of his undergraduate degree and the constant struggle of remembering to live in the process.
The book is about perfection, triumph, the ever-present abyss which threatens to swallow the constant thinker, and the inherent tribulations of love and friendship for an introverted idealist prone to tethering himself to extremes. It's a story of shunning the lash, and, at last, accepting the self for all its parts.
It’s also supposed to be funny sometimes or whatever.
