Two Weeks of Summer

Meet Kim Kincaid: orphaned at eighteen and still struggling with her mother’s death, Kim has a thankless job at a law office, a nasty co-worker, and a two-year relationship with a man who has yet to say he loves her. Such is the life Kim has resigned herself to until her six-year old niece, Summer, is dropped in her lap two weeks shy of Christmas so that her “perfect” sister, Dena, can embark on a romantic getaway. As someone who thinks she can’t keep a Chia Pet alive, Kim takes to the task of motherhood warily. But as the days and weeks pass, Kim begins to hope for a life that has always seemed beyond her reach. Then Dena arrives on her doorstop, heartbroken over her not-so-perfect marriage, and Kim learns the bonds of sisterhood run deeper than she thought possible. Soon she must make a choice: stay in the life she has built, or brave an uncertain future.
