William Henry Milburn was nearly blind from a very young age. Nevertheless, he became a traveling, self-taught Methodist minister in the mid-nineteenth century.
While providing a sermon on a riverboat whose audience included members of the United States Congress, he so impressed them that they elected him Chaplain to Congress in the House of Representatives. Later he also served in the Senate.
His personal story is interesting and his lectures should be of interest to students and historians of the era, as well as practicing Christians.
For the first time, this long out-of-print volume is available as an affordable, well-formatted book for e-readers and smartphones.
