Acquitted!

The author shows the reader that to live by the Spirit means that the Christian is motivated by love in his relationship to God and to others. The law is not something external which he must obey, but it must be written in his heart and become a part of his nature, for the law is love. Obedience to this law is not a means to obtain salvation, but a means by which we show we are saved.
