Newport Out of Season

An article from the July 1858 issue of "The Knickerbocker" in which famed American author Henry Theodore Tuckerman, (1813-1871), noted American essayist and Boston native, describes some lesser known people and places and historical events of the town of Newport, Rhode Island, as it is year-round, apart from the fashionable estates of the very rich people who had more recently made it their summer playground.
