This e-book is a simple introduction to meditation and related topics. This e-book contains ten chapters:
1. What is meditation?
The first chapter will be about what meditation is and a brief history will be given about it. Then the topic of meditation will be discussed in different religions and what according to these religions the achievable goal by practicing meditation is. And finally I will talk about (secular) meditation in modern western society.
2. What is spirituality?
In the second chapter will be about the term spirituality. What does spirituality mean? And what is its purpose?
3. Scientific facts on meditation.
In the third chapter the scientific facts on meditation will be presented. The benefits that are achieved from practicing regular meditation according to scientific research. References are made to the scientific articles and websites which can be found on internet.
4. The present moment.
The fourth chapter will be about the present moment. People mostly use the present moment as a spring board to go somewhere else and overlook its importance.
5. Terms and experiences.
In the fifth chapter some common terms will be discussed (mantra, kundalini etc.), I will also talk about common experiences derived from meditation.
6. Basic kinds of meditation.
In the sixth chapter I will talk about some basic kinds of meditation to give you an idea of the different types of meditation techniques/movements that exist.
7. Meditation techniques.
In the seventh chapter I will present some easy to learn and doable meditation techniques.
8. Personal experience and advice.
In the eight chapter I will talk about my personal experience with meditation and give personal advice on how to integrate meditation in your own life. In this chapter I will give some personal tips on how to use meditation on an everyday basis.
9. Parapsychology
The ninth chapter is about parapsychology and further clarification will be given at the chapter itself.
10. Recommendations.
In the ninth chapter I will give recommendation on music and guided meditations. There will also be information on some spiritual books and I'll mention certain spiritual enlightened teachers that have had a great importance in my life and that of many others. Furthermore I recommend several spiritual & scientific websites, where music, guided meditations and more can be found.
