Meditations on the 51st and 31st Psalms

Written during his imprisonment shortly before his death in 1498, Girolamo Savonarola "poured out his whole heart in communion with God. With the right hand which had been spared to him in diabolical mercy that he might be able to sign the false papers which were intended to cover him with ignominy, he still had it in his power to leave a record of that intercourse with his heavenly Master in which his stricken soul found strength and comfort."

Finding hope and comfort from the Psalms, Savonarola leaves us with a peek into his unwavering trust in God while in the darkest circumstance. These meditations fill the heart with hope as one considers the mercies of God that are held out to all. We pray these would be a blessing to many in all circumstances.
