KD Manes received a Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education and an endorsement in Special Education from Northwest Nazarene College. She has taught K-8 grades for several years in both the school and church settings. KD lives in the northwest with her husband and three kids. Besides writing children’s books, she enjoys gardening, outdoor photography, watching her kids’ sporting events, and exploring the great outdoors.
Terri Walters received a Bachelor Degree in Art Education from the University of Idaho. She has taught K-12 art in public school, as well as children and adult community art classes. In her own studio, she mostly creates with watercolor and pottery. She has worked with her husband in his agricultural research business. Together they now take their agricultural knowledge to international mission fields. Just prior to illustrating When Rocks Cry Out they were doing mission work in Malawi, Africa. Terri lives on the Palouse Prairie in eastern Washington.
