Criminal Investigation: Introduction to Concepts and Applications

This text is designed to provide students with a basic and philosophical understanding of the investigatory processes regarding crimes against persons: death investigations crimes against persons; specially assault/battery, robbery, kidnapping and sex crimes investigations. Students will explore the fundamental and advanced features of first responder responsibilities, on-scene investigation, analysis of problems encountered in interviewing, autopsy process and results, laboratory processes and results, evidence collection and use of technology. Law references are from the California Penal Code & US Supreme Court Case Decisions.
