The Warrior Saint - Of This Land

The Year is 616 AD and King Aethelfrith has had a long and successful rule.  He is getting old however and the wolves and vultures are waiting on the border.  The King must do whatever he can to ensure the safety of his Kingdom, sons and ultimately his legacy.  One of his sons Oswald is set to be a great Saint and King.  This series follows the rise of Saint Oswald from Boy to King to Saint.  But for that to happened his farther must surely first secure his Kingdom and his son's inheritance.  How is a man to be truly great if he starts with nothing?  

Saint Oswald was a real man and this series will follow his real life events although the actual details of what happened are not truly known I have tried to fill the gaps to tell the story of one of the most important, yet often forgotten kings prior to Alfred the Great.
