Charles Godfrey Leland (1824-1903) was an American writer working in the genres humour and satire and collecting folklore. He studied American and European traditions and travelled a lot while working as a journalist. Leland became famous for his comic book 'Hans Breitman's Ballads'.

The story tells us about and Indian couple that has no children. They've tried consulting to all the local doctors and medicine men but all has been in vain.
