The collection of short stories about life and problems in Communist Poland. Humor, satire, and dramatic events.
In general, I am writing short stories mostly about very serious problems of life in Communist Poland using humor and satire. Of course I wrote few dramatic stories too, because life in Communist Poland was very dramatic. Special it is true for period of terror from 1943 to 1947. Actions are in Poland but my stories are universal, their actions can be in any Communist country; in Russia, East Europe and in Asia or Cuba.
Never before year 1917, year of Communist Revolution, had any country experienced new economical system named Communism created in theory by Karol Marx and Frederick Engels, and tested in practice by Lenin and Stalin.
They were not only political dictators, they were economical dictators too. They created centralization and lock of private companies. It work for a while, supported by terror of secret police and by naive people, but soon it started to collapse.
In Russia it ran longer, it ran 73 years, from 1917 to 1990. In Poland and other East Europe countries it ran shorter time, "only" 45 years.
These years of new economical system were unusual, never before world created so stupid system. How it was possible?
Of course terror helped to run it, but I think more important is fact that people believed in this system, special in first years.
It is normal that people are not happy in Capitalism; they should work hard to make for living. Special people not educated. People do not like that some people are very rich, they want that everybody should be financial equal. Even lazy people want to be rich.
The Communism created dramatic situations, but humoristic situations too.
From 1967 I worked in Communist Poland as a supervisor in contractors' companies, I observed system and I took my chance and wrote stories about these situations.
My short stories are warning people that in our world "free lunch" doesn't exist!
As I mention above, I wrote humoristic stories and people love them so much. I love them too!
I wrote and published three books;
two in Polish
"Smoke factories" (In Polish "Fabryki dymu" 2013)
"Workers gained power" (In Polish 'Klasa robotnicza rzadzi" 2014)
and in English
"The Dog Called Hitler" 2014
I mentioned that readers like my stories. It is my huge award!
