Sassafras, A Quilt Journal chronicles the destruction, the grief, and the resultant growth of one woman's life--a woman whose quilts contain a love story about a divorce and the search for solace and healing. Nothing is forever, not even cherished, homemade quilts, but while they exist they embody the stories of the woman who plied her needle through the seams and layers of fabric; they record Beverly's journey to the hills of North Carolina, the source of her grandfather's strength, and the path back to her life in Oregon.
