Several years after Rudolph uses his nose to save Christmas his son, Lightning, is having problems of his own. Although just a yearling, he believes he's good enough to be on a sleigh team because he can fly so fast, and he is fast indeed. No matter how often he's told that he needs to be older, he keeps trying to prove he can do it, getting himself and others into trouble along the way.
Hermy's son, Kermy, is having problems with his dad who insists that he 'make his old pop proud'.
While all of this is happening, some mistreated toys are doing everything they can to get back to Santa's, to warn them about children.
When all of the Christmas toys disappear just days before Christmas Eve everyone at the North Pole is in a panic, trying to figure out what happened to them and where they might be before the holiday is ruined. Can Rudolph save the day once again, and can Lightning help him give Christmas to the world, or will he just get in the way and cause more problems? All of the characters from the original story are here, along with many new ones, in this charming coming of age story of another reindeer and elf in Christmas Town.
