A Declaration by the Poor Inhabitants of the Town of Wellingborrow

In 1650 nine men published a broadside to expose the sufferings of the poor in Wellingborough and gain support for their proposed solution: cultivation of wasteland. Like many radical English thinkers at that time, they believed that their ideas were supported by scripture and the word of God.
