A City Of Walks

In a city, there are many people, streets, buildings, alleys and inhabitants, and each one is an all-day, all-night stage where stories play out about riches and poverty, love and hatred, peace and war, terror and happiness, weirdness and surprise, and a whole gamut of human emotions.

This book is a walk through my own city of life. It , too, is a stage, although a very tiny one where stories, essays, poems and thoughts from my life play out. These are stories about real people in the early 1900's, as well as about fictional characters like Humpty Dumpty. You'll find events as profound as finding God, and those as simple as push coming to shove. And much like a city, these stories are accompanied by a range of human emotions and responses. They are my own, filled with laughter, tears, remembrance, reflection and joy.

I invite you to stroll down these varied streets I've walked. Browse the stores, ride the buses, and walk from one side of town to the other. May you laugh, cry, and ponder as I reflect on the paths I took.
