Edith Wharton (Jan 24, 1862 – Aug 11, 1937) was an American novelist and short story writer, her most known works are The House of Mirth and The Age of Innocence. She was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature on multiple occasions. Wharton first attempted to write at the age of six. Major themes of her works came from her family relationship.
