The Verdict

A young black man stands accused of a serious assault on an Asian girl. He claims they were lovers, but there is nothing to support this claim as the victim lies in a coma. The judge directs the jury to return a unanimous verdict, but prejudices and personal confrontations result in a very dysfunctional group who look unlikely to reach an amicable accord. Alliances form, but discord prevails as the pressure to concur with the judge's wishes takes its toll. Is it feasible that a jury can reach a decision based entirely on what they hear in the courtroom? The Verdict asks this very question.
