"Sometimes bad things can happen to good people." That's the best way to describe what happened to Charles Bradley nearly one hundred years ago at the turn of the century. It was the early 1900"s. Charles was a popular young man. He was mannerly, polite, humorous and well liked by his close friends, and by nearly every stranger he met. He even had a steady girlfriend. At nineteen years old, Charles had his "ducks in a row" they all might have said, but as mentioned earlier, "Sometimes bad things can happen to good people." Charles faces a horrible experience in this story that changes his life and impacts the lives of those around him including his girlfriend, Sarah.
