Their eyes could not behold what they were seeing at that moment: a land with a purple sky, a white-blue sun and a castle that soared high into the heavens.
For Ryan, Johnny, and Trey, this was not what they were expecting to happen when they tried on their friends' medallions. Sure, they were told they were portals to another dimension, but what were the odds that as soon as they put the medallions on that they would find themselves in that dimension?
Their adventure is just beginning in The War of the Scepter, the new Christian fantasy novel by author Jarrod Williams. As the three friends enter and wander the mysterious castle, they soon find themselves in front of royal creatures that resemble mixtures of animals and humans.
Trouble has erupted in the creatures' land, known as the KatLands, as the evil son of a deceased enemy has stolen a precious scepter of power. The son, known as Klivé Thirteen, has also attained the services of an apathetic human, Robert Youngblood, who has a thirst for revenge and penchant for hatred.
The mission to rescue the stolen scepter is being led by the command of Walty Klivé Widget, the emperor of the Dág Empire, and he has asked for the services of those who wear the medallions: the unprepared Ryan, Johnny, and Trey.
The three boys begin training to become warrior archers and swordsmen as they mature in personality and spirit, realizing more and more the gravity of the mission they have been called to help.
Also, there is talk of a unique person who saves the souls of others through his blood, a man by the name of Jesúa. Jesua's existence and His impact on the land are one of many mysteries the friends want to uncover in this coming-of-age tale.
