Policing America's Empire - Pax Americana

In February 1968 the draft board rescinded my II-S student deferment because they considered my Social Science major at the University of California, Irvine, to be non-essential to the war effort. Subsequently, I served three years as a United States Army Military Policeman maintaining order and discipline at home and abroad.

The United States has over 800 foreign military bases from which it promotes American interests. We are the world's last remaining superpower. Through American technology and culture we have brought about globalization. The world is smaller and less diverse. English is fast becoming the lingua franca. We are now the world's leading policeman bringing stability to chaotic environments.
