Few have ever attempted it and even fewer did it without a guided service but our fearless leader Mike and the other 14 of us reveled in this rare experience. Floating the Kanektok River of ALASKA for 91 miles can be as harrowing as climbing Mt. Everest. The Kanektok is the base river of the world famous Cabela's fishing camp, but our experience was much different than that luxury. We truly went on what Joseph Campbell describes as a Heroic Journey.
