Thomas Frederick Crane was a famous American folklorist who was particularly noted for his collection "Italian Popular Tales".
"Snow-White-Fire-Red" is an Italian fairy tale collected by Thomas Crane which was included in his selection called "Italian Popular Tales". The short story follows a king and queen which made a vow that, if they had a child, they would make one fountain running with oil and another with wine. Fortunately queen gave birth to a son, and the y kept their promise built fountains so everyone could take oil and wine. But after seven years fountains went dry and a huge ogress came to take the last with a sponge and pitcher. Prince couldn't make him to stop and broke a pitcher.
