All Aboard; or, Life on the Lake

William Taylor Adams, better known by his pen-name Oliver Optic, was a famous academic, member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives and one of the best-paid authors of his time. He wrote perhaps a thousand short stories and over 125 books, most of them for a boy audience.
Published in 1856, "All Aboard; or, Life on the Lake" included in "The boat club" series, represents a sequel of "The Boat Club; or, The Bunkers of Rippleton". So, "All Aboard" was written to gratify the reasonable curiosity of the readers of the first volume to know what occurred at Wood Lake during the second season.
