The Clever Girl

Thomas Crane was an American scholar and writer, mostly known as a collector and publisher of folk-tales and legends. A master of many languages, Crane translated French, Italian and Spanish works, having become one of the most popular adapters of children's fairy tales.
«The Clever Girl» is an Italian folk tale about a wise huntsman and his relatives son and daughter and all lived together in a wood. Once upon a time a king's son got lost in the deep of the wood, being hungry and tired he fortunetly found a huntsman's house and asked for something to eat and have a rest. Young prince unexpectedly fell in love with a huntsman' daughter. The wedding was celebrated greatly but it wasn't all what young prince knew about his wife.
