Angel of Dreams

Turning 30, 40, or 50 in age can be startling, but turning 60 is a shock. The river of Life becomes constricted by the loss of loved ones, the collapse of dreams, and the loves which never met their zenith. We begin to clutch at the straws of our memory with tenacity, trying to hold on to what we had, while what we are is diminished day by day. Hope reigns supreme while the combined ailments of known medicine plague our weakening bodies. But, down the road we sail in our motor homes and sports cars, smiling to the wind in denial and the reckless assumption that "We'll always have Paris."

Fear not, little dove. The wings that carry the eagle will soon carry you to Paradise.
