Little Red (an adult fairy tale)

It is only a few days before Little Red needs to select a proper suitor for marriage when her mother sends her into the woods to deliver a care package for her ill grandmother. Little Red has traveled into the woods many times, but this time before she leaves, her mother warns her to be wary of wolves. Now that Little Red is older and ready for marriage, her mother warns, the beasts of the forest will be waiting to entice her away from the path.

Mr. Wolfe doesn't seem like the kind of stranger her mother warns her about, and he's certainly not a wolf! So Little Red doesn't hesitate when he wraps his arm around her and keeps her company on her way. But the sun is getting low in the sky, and Little Red begins to feel lost and alone in the big, scary woods after Mr. Wolfe mysteriously vanishes...
