Thomas Keightley (1789–1872) was an Irish writer best known for his works on mythology and folklore. Fairy Mythology published in 1928 gained the world popularity and was reprinted as The World Guide to Gnomes, Fairies, Elves, and Other Little People. Regarded as a pioneer in the study of Folklore by modern scholars in the field, he was one of the early collectors of folklore.
This picture book about a leprechaun who tricks a man who thinks he's clever, too. The pictures fill the pages, and the characters are fully described. This book makes a great read-aloud, and begs to be read with an Irish brogue! When Tom catches the "wee man," or leprechaun, the reader thinks Tom's won! But the leprechaun is MORE clever than Tom, as most are, and leads him on quite a search for the fabled pot of gold! Read the book and find out what happens after the leprechaun tells Tom where to dig for the gold.
