Charles Montgomery Skinner (Aug 4, 1844 - Jun 30, 1928) was an American writer who published myths and legends collection books. His dream was to make American folklore heritage more glorious. Skinner's writings were wide ranging.
The Party from Gibbet Island is a short story by Charles M. Skinner, included in "Myths and Legends of Our Own Land - Volume 02: Isle of Manhattoes and nearby". In times of British dominance, Gibbet Island used to be but big gallows for all sorts of pirates, rebels and smugglers. They were strung up there in numbers so great, that it was believed to be haunted by souls of dead criminals. But even without dead's help, Gibbet Island was quite challenging.
