Commence Falling......In Love

Douglas Gage ponders love while at his friend's wedding. Not being perfect has cost him during his life. His parents abandoned him to the foster care system. A fiancée decided money was worth more than his love. Worst of all he was unable save his best friend's life. The mission they were on went to hell. Nearly dying himself trying to save him, Gage makes a decision while recovering. He leaves the Navy. As one of the team's combat medics, Gage cannot live with failing anyone again. Even though command told him he did his best by Collins, the words have not eased his guilt.
Taking over the apartment across the hall from the bride and groom, Gage proudly calls Henry's wife DeDe, his newly adopted little sister. Admittedly, it is nice to someone fuss over him for the first time in his life. Jealously he wants to be as lucky as Henry. The man fell in love so fast he practically knocked himself out when he landed.
Leaving their wedding, heading to his car in the parking area, he comes across a lavender dressed damsel, cursing out her car. Impressively he finds out the sailor vocabulary belongs to Gena, the super shy wall flower, and one best friend of the bride. It puzzles the guys she barely talks to any of them. Even worse, she hides in nerves. Everyone has offered to put a body in a bag for her. Whomever hurt her will answer for it.
Gena Letter, the florist, and co-maid of honor, has married off one of her best friends to a Navy SEAL. The lucky woman had love move in across the hall from her. He also brought eye candy galore with him. Gena has noticed his friend, Douglas Gage. Drool! Too bad she is broken. She and men don't mix. Not without them leaving, and her crying. She has resigned herself to a lonely, loveless life.
Leaving the wedding to find her car dead, Gena has no idea that she has an audience to her sailor proud curse out of her car. At a male voice she comes out from under the hood to find one tall, dark haired, blue eyed, man laughing at her. The exact one she needs to avoid as her dreams pertaining to him are just that. Dreams. When you are broken, men like this laugh as they leave you.
Gage tried for a date with a red head at the wedding tonight. This was a different red head all decks were standing up in notice for. Maybe he needed to ask Henry, the newly married, how that 'wooing thing' worked? He wants to believe a woman will love him. Perfect or not.
Gage rescues the damsel, finding he wants to get to know her better. LOTS better. Even with a warning the SEAL has made up his mind.
