Party Is Not Bound

Jake is away at college; Ruby has one more year of high school. They close the miles between them by reading literature homework together on the phone, bantering and laughing between paragraphs. It's early fall and so fitting that Ruby is assigned to read Washington Irving's The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow. As they read about Ichabod (Icky-body) Crane, and the headless horseman, their thoughts turn to an incident from the previous year. A narcissistic stalker, a horse...and a head.
