Sixteen Poems

A Nobel Prize winning Irish dramatist and author, one of the founders of the Irish Literary Revival, William Butler Yeats is considered one of the twentieth century's key English language poets. A Symbolist poet, he had published during his life several volumes of plays and poetry, which are characterized dreamlike atmosphere, folk motifs and symbols. His creation had a substantial influence of William Allingham, an Irish poet, diarist and editor, so "Sixteen Poems" is the volume of Allingham's verses, which had the special significance for Yeats.
